5:00 PM - 8:00 PMYoung Israel of Forest Hills Ballroom

We take great pleasure in announcing that our 68th Anniversary Dinner will take place on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at 5:00 pm at the Young Israel of Forest Hills ballroom, located at 7100 Yellowstone Boulevard, Forest Hills. This special dinner will pay tribute to Jonny and Emily Daniel, and David and Linor Kalmus.

Emily and Jonny Daniel have been married and living in Forest Hills for the past five years. Jonny works as a CPA for Grant Thornton and Emily works as a Special Education Itinerant Teacher. They have been active members of Young Israel of Forest Hills, both in the main shul and in the Gluck Bais Medrash Young Couples Minyanim. Emily’s grandparents have been members if the shul for the past 40 years. Emily and Jonny love to welcome new members at their Shabbat table and volunteer for Tomchei Shabbat together. Aside from being one of the gabbaim of the GBM, Jonny is also a GBM board member, where he strives to implement more learning initiatives for the young community. Jonny has welcomed the opportunity to give shiurim or drashot to all YIFH minyanim in Rabbi Schreier’s absence.

Linor and David Kalmus have been living in Forest Hills since their marriage in Eretz Israel almost four years ago. They are parents of two children, Eden Rachel and Shiloh Chai. Linor and David immediately felt welcomed by everyone at the Tifferet Shalom Sephardic minyan. Linor developed strong relationships with the young women of the minyan, assisting in setting up community dinners. She has also been responsible for preparing the Tifferet Shalom Purim party for two years. David has been giving Divrei Torah on Shabbat. This role led him to teach shiurim on Chassidut during the week as well as during the weekly Sunday breakfast and Shachrit. Linor works as an executive secretary and administrative assistant at a diamond office in Manhattan. David currently learns full-time in Kolel. Additionally, he teaches Torah to secular Jewish teenagers in Public School, as well as Chassidut to adults.
